Relaunch Date and Wyldfire Reopening!
To my fellow people of WYLDFIRE. The time has finally come for us to announce the details of our much anticipated relaunch of our beautiful city. Instead of doing a normal town hall without much to talk about, we have decided to release this official announcement.
Over the last couple of months, we have been on a journey of remaking our beautiful city. It has been an eventful journey full of its ups and downs. We’ve seen people go, and even have seen some people return. As a staff team, we have done as much as we can to ensure our community stays together. I am very happy to say that we seem to have accomplished this goal on the largest scale that we could.
Emergency Services
The first thing we’ll dive into is some changes coming to the police departments. For the start of the relaunch, we will be focusing solely on the LSPD. Other departments like BCSO, SAST, and Game Wardens will be tabled while we fully secure and rebuild the LSPD. As time goes on and the proper personnel step up to the plate, we will roll out those departments. The major factors of these reasons are;
- Not having enough leadership to fill the required roles in both LSPD and other departments.
- Not having a city population big and active enough to warrant multiple departments.
- We want to take the stress of trying to have multiple departments away while we go through our rebuilding process.
The medical side of emergency services will be given some major updates. This includes a new vehicle fleet such as a helicopter, new uniforms and a new image. Now known as the San Andreas Medical, with personnel uniforms being labeled SAM Services, and vehicles being SAM Response. The other major update is an entirely new health system. We gathered feedback from our previous system and chose to pivot to a completely new system. Kara shall be returning as our Chief of Medicine, with Hue remaining the assistant chief. We are also condensing the SAMS to just 1 overall department that will control both the City and Sandy hospital.
Towards the end of WYLDFIRE’s 1.0 life, command activity was one of the biggest downfalls for our LSPD and EMS. We hope to change this with key factors.
- Both the chief and assistant chiefs were picked by staff.
- The chiefs will undergo a 30 day review for the first 6 months to ensure activity.
- The chiefs have agreed to a set minimum hours requirement to play their chief characters.
- Both departments now have an assigned GM to oversee them.
Criminal Life
The entire crime system (except roof runners) has been completely replaced and revamped. This includes all your favorite heists, robberies, and drugs. We wanted to genuinely feel like this WYLDFIRE is a 2.0. That is all I want to speak on for crime so we do not spoil the fun for the city. Just know it's been gone through and we hope you guys have a much better enjoyment out of the whole side of crime.
Businesses, Housing, and Legal Life
Other systems like housing will now support MLOs. We will see what this could mean for businesses, though at this moment it is not tested. Pets, new emotes, and legal jobs are all coming and/or being revamped. A short list of a few features include:
- Pets - with customization.
- New legal jobs - though we are saving some for a future update.
- New drug consumption system. No more drug addiction.
- New inventory UI to ensure it's easily legible.
- New multi-character - we will only support 3 created characters unless subscribed or unlocked.
- Multi location dealerships with different vehicles.
- Additional features to the character clothing menu like favorites, better camera controls, and hair saving with outfits.
For businesses, the applications are currently closed. We have selected the businesses that will be returning for the release. The casino will not be ownable by a player, and instead be opened all the time.
Renewed Life
During the time of WYLDFIRE 1.0 we had seen some amazing stories develop. During those times, we saw some emotions run high and sometimes saw OOC get in the way. Because of this, we are allowing characters who were once pronounced dead to return. Should you revive a character, it's on you how to RP that. We suggest a faked death / witness protection program. Abduction for science, etc. Be creative!
The last big question some of you may have is how to approach your memories and knowledge within the city. You may start out fresh and not keep memories should you choose to; by doing so, please help others know this through your RP. If you approach someone who believes they remember you, prompt them with RP that shows you chose this “clean slate” path.
Criminals, your backgrounds are now clean. You have a fresh start and you may use this to go legal should you want to flip your story. Your RP is your oyster on day 1, and we are so excited to see these stories come back into fruition.
Teasers
We have released a few teasers in the past month or so, and you can find all of the links to them here. Teaser 3 just got released with this post, so please be sure to give it some love! Clink each below to be taken directly to them!
Teaser 1 (Drugs)
Teaser 2 (Drugs)
Teaser 3 (Heists)
Staff Applications
We have also opened up staff applications for both community and game admins. You’ll be able to select what role you would prefer, but staff will review your app and offer whichever role they may feel suits you best. If you feel you may be a good fit, now is a great time to apply and help the city momentum continue!
Now for the real big news...
The city is planned to open Friday, January 3rd, 2025. With holidays and such, we did not want to rush anything. We hope you all have a fantastic holiday season, and we can't wait for you to join us for our release! See you all soon and check out the replies for the Q&A!!
