Hey everyone! Thank you for taking the time to read the first edition of the WYLDFIRE Community Newsletter. This is something that we have wanted to do for quite some time now, and I am excited to finally being able to push content like this.
As we all know, our lovely GTAV City has entered its maintenance phase. This, as we’ve been clear, was something that we did want to avoid, however due to life circumstances, the direction the city was headed, and more importantly, the direction the RP had started to really show how lacking some of our systems were, we had no choice. At this time, we still expect the city to be unavailable for play till the first week of December.
I know that during our first town hall, communication was our number one priority. I am here to say that it still is. I know that we have been lacking in that area over the past several weeks, and today I am going to tell everyone why. About a month ago, during a routine doctors exam, they had told me that due to my stress and anxiety, I’m going to end up having a heart attack. So after some discussions with Bonnie, I took the time to change up my medication, as well as see a weekly therapist. After 4 weeks of this, I am happy to say that I’m feeling really good, and I mean really good. I finally had some genuine excitement hit me for this city, and all of the things that we want to do rushed to me at once - and I was ready for it. I am not writing this to ask for a pity party, the lack of communication falls on me and regardless of any issues, I should not have let it happen. Moving forward, it won't falter again.
To start this off, lets have a recap of some development updates! The team took some time at the start of this maintenance process to take a breather and get ready for the work load ahead. The devs have been busting their ass off, so taking a break before it all goes down was a need. However, a quick recap would be
- Installed the city to a new hardware, with state of the art DDoS protection.
- Installed the city to a linux based OS, significantly increasing the performance.
- Created a tunnel network to allow the devs access to restart services without the need of plasma being around, speeding up the whole process.
Those are the big things to recap on, the rest has been bug organization, backend restructuring, and redoing some roles to make sure we have a clear path ahead.

We hope to bring more servers like Minecraft into this mix, with 7 Days 2 Die being worked on currently!
Not only game servers like this, but we hope to expand the community into all kinds of games! Like shoot'em ups, sports, MMO's and more! Its all about growing the community in all the gaming directions we can!

Next up on our talking list is the first ever Community Member Spotlight! For me, it only made sense to have the one and only Lily as our first spotlight! Here is a small Q&A from Lily!
“Hi, I’m PlantQueen18, but everyone (except most of the people here) call me Plant. I have been rp’ing since April 2022, and been in Wyldfire since May 2023. I got into RP through a close friend, who wouldn't stop telling me to do it, and when I finally accepted I thought ‘maybe this will be a few months thing’. And then I haven't stopped rp’ing since. My bread and butter, as it were, is relationship rp and emotional rp. I’ve never been much of a serious crim, or a great medic, but I love making connections with people. I have only ever played mute characters, which brings a lot of challenges for myself and the people around me. They say 55% of communication is body language, and the rest spoken word and tone. Given the physical limitations of body language, almost all of how I communicate through my characters is through written tone. It adds a challenge to everyone, how well can you focus on a person when it's harder to connect. And for me, it's how I can connect with you. My biggest goal in RP is to create a life for my characters, to let them live out their story and be part of other people's stories, hopefully a pleasant part but every story is spiced up a little with a villain so I’m never opposed.
What do you enjoy the most about WYLDFIRE?
Wyldfire has been my home for over a year now, and it's given me probably the most enjoyable storyline yet. Lily is a character I didn't feel very attached to going in, and I expected to only stay a little bit. And then I started meeting people, and it became so much more than a temp city on a temp character, it became a place I felt like I could stay forever. Lily is a crazy person, so much so sometimes I lose my mind playing her, but everyone has always facilitated her craziness, and most people love her for it, not despite it. I adore the community that we have here, and I couldn’t ask for a better family.
What is your favorite city memory?
Many of Lilys happy memories are also shrouded in sadness, she adores Burgershot but only got it by losing her brother, she couldn't enjoy joining her family because of her fears she cursed them, she was about to accept her brother Tony’s marriage proposal but he died. But while it was incredibly sad, Tony’s funeral was a time when so many of her family came together, it was her first time pointing a gun at someone, there was the bus babies. It was a crazy night, and for Lily pretty traumatic, but for me, it was amazing to see how loved he was by so many people, and that i not only got to be part of that, but part of the center of it.
What are you most looking forward to doing when the city re-opens?
Restarting Lily’s life. Before the wipe they (her and her boyfriend Paulie) had just bought their dream home, were thinking of marriage, Burgershot was working on a number of new toy collections, her family had just got new members. I’m looking forward to getting to see where her life goes when she has to build back up from the bottom.
What kind of events would you like to see us do during this maintenance mode?
I miss everyone. I want to play games, I want to spend time, I just want us to be able to hold onto each other even though our characters can't.I also want Wesker to start giving people more time before he wants things in!”
Thank you all for taking the time to read this newsletter. And I cant wait to speak to all again real soon when we start doing our “focus group” style outreaches. Till then, cya! - Wesker.
